VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We have many opportunities to volunteer, at Tri-County Pregnancy and Parenting
Services.  Volunteers are trained before they ever begin to work with Clients.  Volunteers
in the Centers or Thrift Stores will generally be asked for a time commitment of about 4
hours one day a week depending on the position and your schedule.
OPPORTUNITES AVAILABLE
IN-CENTER CLIENT ADVOCATES: After completing training, volunteer peer-counselors
work one on one with clients, providing prenatal, abortion, adoption, and abstinence
information and support services. Clients have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel
of Christ and Christian care.

AT HOME HELPLINE VOLUNTEER:  After completing training, Hotline Volunteers answer
Tri-County’s phones after hours.  You will speak with clients, schedule appointments and
provide basic information about our services.

VOLUNTEER AT TRI-COUNTY THRIFT SHOPS:  Volunteers work sorting donations,
pricing items and helping customers at either our thrift shop in Wauconda or in Grayslake.

RECEPTIONIST:  This position is needed at both centers.  You will be asked to do
various clerical, reception and office tasks.  There is little client contact with this position.

RESOURCE ROOM ASSISTANT:  You will keep the resource room organized, sorting
clothes and baby supplies, and prepare baby layettes and resource packages for our
clients.  Client contact is minimal with this position.

CERTIFIED NURSE:  Process pregnancy tests for the Center, and complete the Proof of
Pregnancy form.  This can be done around your schedule, and requires no client contact.

ABSTINENCE SPEAKER:  This position will take the volunteer into local schools and
youth groups to speak on abstinence.Training and materials will be provided. The
volunteer will use a prepared abstinence talk, and answer student's questions.

CHURCH REPRESENTATIVE:  You will be in charge of sharing the vision of Tri-County
P&PS with your home church.  We will also ask you to keep your congregation updated
with news from the centers and promote different fundraising events.

PRAYER PARTNERS:  Prayer is vital in Christian life and at Tri-County P&PS it is our
desire to serve and give God the glory for all that is accomplished. In this position you will
be asked to pray for our clients, staff, volunteers, and board.

FRIEND-FOR-LIFE:  Opportunity to regularly supply financial resources to assist with
ongoing expenses.  A friend for life commits to support Tri-County PPS with a specified
monthly gift.
